At Lake Heron our philosophy is to re-use and enhance what our forebears have provided us with. We recognise that we have a responsibility to leave the station in a better place for the next generation. This philosophy extends to our accommodation. We have restored and enhanced station buildings for guests to enjoy. The history of these buildings is part of our story.

We have lovingly restored Lake Heron Cottage, retaining much of the original character, to provide luxury high country accommodation for guests. We can accommodate up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms.

The Fisherman's Hut

The Fisherman’s Hut is the station’s latest accommodation offering. Designed for a couple, the hut is a fully self-contained one bedroom unit with a stylish kitchen, laundry, living area and ensuite bathroom.

The New Hut

The New Hut was the newest hut on the station when it was constructed in 1923. We've restored the hut extensively over the years and it is now a wonderful base for an exclusive high country sojourn.
