Discover the beauty, the history and the people on our 4 day Nowhere Cycle Trail.

For bikers keen to truly experience the high country, we have created The Nowhere Trail – a 4 day cycle journey, through the spectacular high country scenery of the Rakaia and Lake Stream. A key portion of the trail traverses through Lake Heron Station. Warm hospitality, local knowledge, comfortable farm accommodation, fabulous cuisine, experienced guides and great backcountry cycling  for all abilities are some of the features of this trip.

Dates for next summer’s trips are available on

The Nowhere Trail is a 180km loop through New Zealand’s heartland, starting and finishing in the charming rural town of Methven. The trail starts with 15kms of tarseal, but you quickly get a sense of entering the realm of Nowhere as you move onto shingle roads and private farm tracks. The experience caters for novice and advanced cyclists alike. Your group will be accompanied by a support vehicle, so if you need a respite from cycling, simply hop in the vehicle and enjoy the views.
